Beer Line Cleaning Problem

fob-detector-bleedHi

I’m experiencing trouble with cleaning the beer lines. My cleaning bottle is all set up and connected to the gas supply. I turn the yellow switch on when I need to use the cleaning product and the pipe sucks it up into the beer lines. However recently when I turn my cleaning fluid on, instead of drawing it up, the pipe in the cleaning bottle is blowing gas out and bubbling the cleaning fluid. This is then not drawing the fluid into the beer lines. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  1. Sounds very much like one the gases to the couplers has been left on and it pushing its way back through your cleaning gas pump, if that’s possible. It would probably be one of the mixed gases that has been left on as they are a higher pressure, failing that it could be a faulty seal in the cleaning gas pump itself and gas is jumping across. Are the cellarbuoys filling up with gas?

  2. If it isn’t what Hoppy suggests then it could be a seal in the cleaning pump has gone allowing gas into the cleaning ringmain and its escaping via the easiest route – Through to open end of the line which is the cleaning tub tube, you will need an engineer to check this out.

  3. I think it must be the flojet pump. There’s a couple in the cellar in the minute that are not in use and uncoupled. is it worth trying a quick switch over? I know i can just call engineer but it means waiting all day for them or waiting forever.

I don’t think anyone would expect you to do that.
