  1. If you don’t clean your lines for a month they will be stinking. Lines should be cleaned weekly if you have yeast in your lines it will attract more yeast and as you are quiet in the week, you will not be flushing the debris out so in fact it will be worse. So really it is best to thoroughly clean you lines weekly to prevent wastage and to keep the beer tasting good.

  2. G’day drbob,
With the best will in the world,a line clean once a week is the standard recommendation by those in the trade.

On the basis that,on one lineful there is only so much that can settle out, there may be reason to assume that less cleaning is necessary. The fact is that flow helps to prevent settlement of any particles present and regular cleaning is instrumental in removing those particles that do settle.

Particle dimensions can be anywhere from the size of a flake of cigarette ash down to smaller than airborne dust, take a moment to regard a hazy pint of real ale,it has to come from somewhere.

The big bits will settle easily and be moved along just as easily by flow. The smaller stuff takes longer to settle out but adheres more readily to the inside of the line and that is the stuff dealt with by line cleaning solution.

In my opinion you have been offered a dud.You are correct in thinking that you will still get a buildup of all deposits over time.

    Good luck,good ale friend. 🙂

  3. as Tall Alex.
    Maverick.
and boz. have said CLEAN YOUR LINES WEEKLEY. you may think you are wasting beer/lager . but the bit you do wast is nothing to what you will wast by NOT cleaning.
    clean lines = MORE customers
dirty lines = NO customers. work it out.

I clean every week whether we are busy or not, I have to be there at 7.30 for the dray so if nothing else it gives me something to do!
